Terms of Service

By using Finance & Reporting Intelligence ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms. Please read carefully — Section 6 (AI output limitations) and Section 7 (CPA review responsibility) are particularly important.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, signing up for a free trial, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. The Platform

Finance & Reporting Intelligence is an AI-assisted finance reporting platform. It accepts a General Ledger (via CSV, Excel, or ERP API) and produces AI-generated outputs including, but not limited to: variance commentary, board packs, monthly MIS, covenant testing, posting-quality checks, deep-dive analyses, draft journal entries, and accounting memos.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Sharing accounts is prohibited. Each user requires their own credentials.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or our security policies.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and trials

  • Free trial: as described on the pricing page, with no card required.
  • Paid subscriptions: billed monthly or annually in advance. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period.
  • Refunds: not provided for partial periods unless required by law.
  • Price changes: we will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.

5. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness of the data you upload.
  • You will not upload data that you do not have the right to process.
  • You will not use the Platform to violate any law, infringe intellectual-property rights, or attempt to defeat security controls.
  • You will not attempt to reverse-engineer the Platform, extract training data, or use Platform outputs to build a competing product.

6. AI output limitations — read carefully

AI-generated outputs (commentary, board pack drafts, journal entries, technical accounting determinations, forecasts, covenant tests, posting-quality findings, audit memos, contract analysis, and all other content produced by Platform agents) are informational and analytical assistance only. They:

  • Do not constitute financial, legal, tax, audit, or accounting advice;
  • Are not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified human professional;
  • May contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations characteristic of large language models;
  • Cannot legally sign off financial statements, audit opinions, or regulatory filings;
  • Reflect a knowledge cutoff and may miss recent changes in accounting standards, tax codes, or jurisdiction-specific requirements.

The Platform's capabilities and limitations are summarised in the “AI Controller capabilities & limitations” disclaimer at the bottom of our home page. You should review that summary before relying on any output.

7. CPA / qualified professional review — required

You agree that before any Platform output is posted to your ledger, used in decision-making, submitted to a lender or regulator, included in financial statements, or distributed to a third party, it will be:

  • Reviewed and approved by a qualified Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent licensed finance professional;
  • Verified against source records and applicable accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable framework);
  • Subjected to your organisation's standard control activities (segregation of duties, JE approvals, balance-sheet reconciliations, period-close sign-offs).

Audit-readiness claims describe the format and traceability of the Platform's output. They do not constitute an audit or assurance opinion. An audit can only be performed by a licensed external auditor.

8. BYOK and BYOD

  • BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): if you connect your own Claude / OpenAI / Gemini API key, prompts and completions flow through your AI provider account under your agreement with that provider. You are responsible for the API key, its rotation, and any usage charges.
  • BYOD (Bring Your Own Drive / Database): if you configure external storage, your financial data resides in your chosen storage system under your agreement with that provider. You are responsible for the storage, retention, backups, and access governance of that environment.

9. Intellectual property

  • The Platform, its software, prompts, and agent designs are owned by Finance & Reporting Intelligence and protected by copyright, trade-secret, and other laws.
  • You retain ownership of the data you upload and the outputs generated for you, subject to these Terms.
  • You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to operate, secure, and improve the Platform for you. We do not use your financial data to train AI models.

10. Service availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, AI-provider outages, or third-party integrations may cause occasional disruptions. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

11. Warranties and disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Finance & Reporting Intelligence be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Platform. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Platform will not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finance & Reporting Intelligence from any claims arising out of your data, your use of Platform outputs, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

14. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, illegal use, or threats to security. On termination, your right to use the Platform ceases. We will, on request, delete or return your data within a reasonable period, subject to legal-retention obligations.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Finance & Reporting Intelligence is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will increment the version date at the top and notify registered users by email or in-app prompt. You will be required to re-accept the new version on next sign-in. If you do not accept, your access will be limited.
